• Established himself as a holding midfielder for Winterthur in 2008/09 and soon caught the eye of Grasshoppers, who signed him on loan in summer 2010.

• Played every minute of Switzerland's 2009 European Under-19 Championship finals campaign in Ukraine.

• Started both legs of the play-off victory against Sweden in U21 qualifying.
