• Not long after Povlsen had broken into the AGF first team, coach Ove Pedersen said: "I believe AGF have got a new lawnmower," referring to the club's former midfielder, Stig Tøfting, who was nicknamed 'the little lawnmower'.

• Was a regular in midfield as AGF won promotion to the Danish top flight as second-tier champions in 2010/11.

• Denmark's second group game, against Belarus, takes place in Povlsen's home stadium: the Aarhus Stadion.
