Switzerland defender François Affolter has been ruled out of the remainder of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship after tearing a thigh muscle in training.
The 20-year-old centre-back sustained the injury during a session on Wednesday morning ahead of his country's semi-final against the Czech Republic. Affolter started Switzerland's opening win against Denmark but did not feature subsequently, with Timm Klose and Jonathan Rossini claiming the central defensive roles.
The BSC Young Boys player will remain with the squad for the rest of the tournament, which will include either an Olympic play-off or the final on Saturday.
