Nasri completes Manchester City switch

Samir Nasri has become the fifth player to sign for Manchester City FC this summer after agreeing to join the FA Cup holders from Arsenal FC for a fee in the region of €27m.

Manchester City FC have intensified their summer recruitment drive by signing midfielder Samir Nasri from Arsenal FC for a fee reportedly in the region of €27m.

Nasri, who spent three seasons with Arsenal after arriving from Olympique de Marseille in 2008, will have a four-year deal with the club that pipped Arsène Wenger's side to third place in the Premier League last term. City will thereby learn their first UEFA Champions League group stage opponents on Thursday.

The 24-year-old French international enjoying a standout 2010/11 campaign in north London as he registered ten goals in 30 league outings. Previously he had scored 11 times in 121 Ligue 1 appearances for home-town team Marseille.

Forward-running Nasri, who was entering the final year of his Arsenal contract, becomes Manchester City's fifth summer acquisition. He follows former Gunners team-mate Gaël Clichy, forward Sergio Agüero, defender Stefan Savić and goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon into Roberto Mancini's expensively assembled squad.

Nasri is also the third player to depart Arsenal in recent weeks after Clichy, Emmanuel Eboué and Cesc Fàbregas – and the fourth to leave them for the Manchester outfit since 2009, the others being Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Touré.
