• Saturday's defeat was BATE's first in 11 Vysshaya Liga games and their first at home in the league all season, in what was their final outing of 2011 in Borisov.

• It was BATE's second home loss in 23 matches, following their 5-0 defeat by FC Barcelona on matchday two.

• BATE beat FC Torpedo Zhodino 4-2 on 23 October to seal their sixth consecutive Belarusian title, and eighth overall, with four matches to spare.

• Viktor Goncharenko's team have kept 19 clean sheets in 32 league matches this season.

Injury news
• Yegor Filipenko could miss the rest of the group stage after injuring his back in Belarus's draw with Romania on 7 October.

• Vitali Rodionov is likely to be out of action until at least April after rupturing knee ligaments on 28 August.

• Evgeni Kuntsevich underwent knee surgery in July and has been ruled out until the new year.

International duty
• No BATE players were on senior international duty but Mikhail Gordeychuk played 90 minutes for Belarus Under-23s, providing an assist, as they lost 4-2 to their United Arab Emirates counterparts on 15 November.

• Marek Bakoš took his tally to six in his last five league games as Pavel Vrba's side claimed only their fifth win in 11 matches in all competitions.

• Petr Jiráček scored his second goal in as many games, having registered his first international strike for the Czech Republic against Montenegro last Tuesday.

• It was Vrba's 100th league game at the Plzeň helm and 53rd win; he has suffered 19 defeats in that time.

• David Limberský started on Saturday after shaking off a thigh injury suffered in the 2-1 loss at SK Slavia Praha on 6 November.

• Marek Čech has not played since injuring his knee on matchday three but was on the substitutes' bench against Mladá Boleslav at the weekend.

International duty
• Pilař, Jiráček and Daniel Kolář were in action as the Czech Republic booked their UEFA EURO 2012 place with a 3-0 aggregate victory against Montenegro in the play-offs. Pilař scored his first international goal in the 2-0 first-leg win on 11 November; Jiráček opened his own account four days later. Milan Petržela was an unused squad member.
