Tottenham's Dawson sidelined by Achilles injury

Tottenham Hotspur FC captain Michael Dawson will sit out much of his side's Group A campaign after suffering an Achilles injury that could keep him sidelined for two months.

Defender Michael Dawson could miss much of Tottenham Hotspur FC's UEFA Europa League group stage campaign after sustaining an Achilles tendon injury.

The Tottenham captain, who sat out Saturday's 2-0 Premier League victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, picked up the injury in training and is expected to be sidelined for up to two months. His absence will come as a blow to manager Harry Redknapp ahead of Spurs' UEFA Europa League Group A opener at PAOK FC on Thursday.

A two-month lay-off for 27-year-old centre-back Dawson would leave Tottenham without their four-times capped England international for four of their six group stage matches.
