UEFA EURO 2012 play-off draw in Krakow

The UEFA EURO 2012 play-off draw will be made in Krakow on Thursday 13 October, defining the four pairings that will contest the last four available places in Poland-Ukraine.

The draw for the qualifying play-off matches for UEFA EURO 2012 will take place from 13.00CET on Thursday 13 October at the Sheraton Hotel in Krakow, Poland.

The draw ceremony will be conducted by UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino and former Poland forward Zbigniew Boniek, one of the final tournament ambassadors.

While the nine qualifying group winners and the best runner-up qualify directly for the finals in Poland and Ukraine, the eight remaining runners-up will participate in the play-offs.

These eight sides will be divided in two pots containing four seeded and four unseeded teams respectively, in accordance with the national team coefficients established at the conclusion of the group stage. (Click here for the interim national team coefficients.)

The draw will define the four pairings as well as the order of the home and away ties. The first leg will be played on 11 and 12 November, and the return legs on 15 November.

Media representatives wishing to attend the play-off draw are asked to apply via email to fame_accreditations@uefa.ch, writing in the subject field: EURO 2012 play-off draw.

Media should also mention if they would like to attend the event in any case – or if their attendance depends on a specific team being involved in proceedings. The deadline for media requests is midday on Monday 10 October.

Because of place restrictions, only a limited number of photographers and written press journalists will be allowed to attend the ceremony in the draw hall.

ENG crews will not be able to film the draw but may have the opportunity to attend the post-draw mixed zone activities in limited numbers.

The draw will be transmitted live on Eurosport and UEFA.com. A video news release will be made available on the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) world feed shortly after completion of the event.
