Villarreal's Catalá set for six weeks out

Villarreal CF defender José Catalá will be out of action for around six weeks after suffering a left thigh tear in the lead-up to Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat by FC Bayern München.

Villarreal CF will be without José Catalá for their final UEFA Champions League Group A encounter at home to SSC Napoli after the defender sustained a left thigh tear.

Catalá, who had previously played every minute of Villarreal's group stage campaign, missed Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at FC Bayern München after picking up the injury during Monday training. Having subsequently undergone tests, the full-back has been ruled out for up to six weeks.

The Yellow Submarine are yet to register a point ahead of the visit of Napoli on 7 December.
