Sporting Clube de Portugal have completed the signing of Uruguayan striker Sebastián Ribas on an 18-month loan from Genoa CFC.

Ribas, 23, joined the Italian outfit last summer after his league-leading 23-goal haul helped Dijon FCO to promotion from Ligue 2 in France. Genoa have opted to loan him to Sporting until the end of the 2012/13 season, after which the Portuguese side will have the option to make the move permanent for €2.5m.

In addition, 20-year-old centre-back Xandão has joined on loan until the end of next season from Desportivo Brasil. Again, Sporting will have the chance to sign the player on a full-time basis at the end of the initial deal. The Lisbon giants also confirmed midfielder Renato Neto, 20, is returning to the club after 18 months on loan at Cercle Brugge KSV.

Sporting take on Legia Warszawa in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 next month, travelling to Poland for the first leg on 16 February, with the return match at the Estádio José Alvalade seven days later.
