Suker classic skill

Presenter 1: Croatia arrived at EURO 96 as dark horses for success... although not among the favourites, with technical players such as Zvonimir Boban, Robert Prosinecki and prolific striker Davor Suker in their ranks they were a team that could produce magic moments at any time... (18 secs)

Presenter 2: One such unforgettable moment came from the boot of Suker against Denmark at Hillsborough... (6 secs)

Davor Suker 1 (Serbian): It was very important…. You’ve just scored a goal against the best goalkeeper in the world. Peter Schmeichel was a great goalkeeper at Manchester United, and when you see him, he is very tall standing on the goal line, and you wonder if you can score a goal against him. (19 secs)

Presenter 3: As he moved into the penalty area, this is the view Suker had in front of him, with the 1 metre 93 Schmeichel providing an imposing obstacle between the Croatian and the goal…. Surprising everyone, Suker got his left foot under the ball, using his instep to lift it over the Danish goalkeeper into the opposite corner of the net, with his previous touch of the ball, knocking it out of his feet and into his stride with his right boot, key to giving him the correct angle to attempt the chip. (27 secs)

Davor Suker 2: (Serbian): He looks frightening when he is on the goal line, but you had to not be scared. He is a human being after all. And I think that the goal I scored, stopping and shooting over his head, that was what marked my play. I did that in training and during matches, and there’s no difference with those big EURO goals... I can say it was one of the most beautiful goals i've scored. (22 secs)
