With the round of 32 now complete, the 16 remaining teams prepare to continue their journey on the road to the final in Bucharest. As the action intensifies, Tipster returns to bring you up to speed on some of the best players still competing in this year's competition.
Keeping goal for one of the competition's most consistent outfits, Bolat has been in fine form throughout Standard's campaign, keeping six clean sheets in his nine appearances so far and making ten saves along the way. He also has positive experience of facing round of 16 opponents Hannover 96, shutting them out twice in the group stage. He is even a threat at the other end of the pitch, as AZ Alkmaar discovered in 2009 when he earned his team a 1-1 draw with an incredible last-gasp header. With an average score of 5.4 points per game, Bolat represents outstanding value at €4.9m.
With five assists in six European appearances this term, no player in the competition has created more goals than Sosa. The former SSC Napoli playmaker has also featured in all eight of Metalist's European games so far, and has proved himself to be an integral part of Myron Markevych's plans. Playing in a side brimming with confidence and boasting 23 goals in their last seven UEFA Europa League games, Sosa is a wise choice as his team prepare to welcome Olympiacos FC to Ukraine – where they have scored eight times in their last two European games. Sosa is available for €4.6m.
Since joining PSV from FC Groningen in the summer of 2011, the 23-year-old Slovenian international has been a revelation for Fred Rutten's side. He has scored 12 goals in 19 domestic games, and five in his seven European appearances – including four in his last three UEFA Europa League outings. Matavž has played every minute of PSV's European campaign since joining the club, and has helped spearhead their charge for the Eredivisie title. Matavž is available for €7.5m.
The next transfer deadline is 8 March at 18.45CET.
