Lars Jacobsen

FC København

After a troubled time abroad in Germany and England, Lars Jacobsen is back at FC København, the club where he made his reputation as an international-class right-back. An ever-present for Denmark at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, he started all eight of the team's UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying matches.

• Began with local club Odense BK, making his Superligaen debut, suffering relegation and winning promotion with the team all before he turned 20.

• A fixture in the OB side from 1999-2002, finishing ninth, seventh and sixth in the Superligaen, he was man of the match in the 2002 Danish Cup final – a 2-1 victory over København, which helped him seal a move to Hamburger SV.

• An unsuccessful 18-month stint at Hamburg delivered just 22 league appearances and one goal, prompting a January 2004 move to København, where he won three Danish titles and made his first forays into European club competition.

• The second of those, in 2005/06, ended in UEFA Cup elimination by Hamburg, while the third, the following season, brought him six appearances in the UEFA Champions League group stage after his team had knocked out AFC Ajax in the final qualifying round.

• While at FCK he became a regular for Denmark and maintained his place in the national side despite disappointing, injury-curtailed one-season spells at 1. FC Nürnberg, Everton FC, Blackburn Rovers FC and West Ham United FC, the first and last of which ended in relegation.

• Rejoined København, as a free agent, in September 2011 and scored his first international goal – on his 45th appearance – during a UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying win in Cyprus the following month.
