On a dramatic night in Munich, Chelsea FC refused to bow down to FC Bayern München and ended the evening by taking the UEFA Champions League trophy to London for the first time.

The 2012 UEFA Champions League final proved to be full of twists and turns as FC Bayern München looked set to claim a fifth title only for Chelsea FC to hit back and become European champions for the first time.

We look back at the event in Munich, from the pre-match hopes and expectations from the two captains, the pre-final training and the predictions of the fans in a vibrant city. Then there is the main event, Didier Drogba converting the decisive kick in a nerve-shredding penalty shoot-out. Petr Čech was a central figure while Frank Lampard finally lifted the trophy for Chelsea – we hear from both of them.
