EURO player statistics: the ultimate resource

The UEFA EURO 2012 squads have been finalised, but what do you know of the 368 footballers? Who is the tallest? Who is the youngest? The UEFA.com player browser has all the answers.

The UEFA EURO 2012 squads have now been finalised and 368 players can now look forward in earnest to this summer's tournament in Poland and Ukraine. To whet your appetite, UEFA.com has launched a detailed player browser which tells you everything from the tallest teams to which defenders scored most in qualifying, via the players trending on Twitter.

A selection of the statistics available can be seen below, with much more available in the player browser itself.

Appearances
The Netherlands boast the most experienced squad – averaging 42 caps between them. With 94 appearances, Rafael van der Vaart tops their lot. France and co-costs Poland are at the other end of the spectrum with an average of 21 caps in their respective squads.

With 129 caps, Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas is the most experienced player at the finals.

Height
Germany may have an advantage in aerial duels ... unless they play Croatia. Both sides' squads have an average height of 185cm, while the tallest individual player is Sweden goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson (199cm).

Goals
The Netherlands scored the most goals in qualifying (37), while Greece were the least prolific team with 14, with six of those coming from defenders.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, the top individual scorer, contributed almost as many as he ended qualifying with 12 goals; Miroslav Klose was second on nine.

Age
Italy, Russia, Republic of Ireland and Sweden will take the oldest squads to UEFA EURO 2012, with an average age of 28. At four years younger a man, Germany's squad are the youngest in the competition.

At 37, Greece goalkeeper Kostas Chalkias is the oldest player at UEFA EURO 2012, while Netherlands defender Jetro Willems is the youngest at 18. If Willems makes an appearance, he will become the youngest ever player to take the field at a UEFA European Championship (the current record is held by Enzo Scifo at 18 years and 115 days).
