Valckx poised for PSV role

Former Dutch international Stan Valckx has returned to his old club PSV Eindhoven as operational manager.

Former Dutch international defender Stan Valckx has returned to his former club PSV Eindhoven in the role of operational manager for football affairs.

Three-year deal
Valckx, who won 20 caps for the Netherlands, has agreed a three-year contract that begins on 1 July. He will be working under PSV coach Guus Hiddink, who guided PSV to second place in the Eredivise in 2003/04.

Wide-ranging role
Valckx, 40, made 221 league appearances for PSV and also played for VVV Venlo and Sporting Clube de Portugal before retiring in 2000. In his new role, he will be responsible for preparing transfers and managing PSV's relations with other clubs. Valckx's duties will also include co-ordinating the scouting, youth and technical departments at the Eindhoven club.
