Feyenoord have completed the signing of Harmeet Singh from Vålerenga Fotball for an undisclosed fee with the Norwegian midfielder putting pen to paper on a two-year deal and the option of a further two years.

Singh impressed during five seasons at Vålerenga where he made 100 appearances and scored eight goals. The 21-year-old represented Norway at youth level and made his senior international debut against Thailand in January.

"It feels very good to be a Feyenoord player, I needed this step in my career," said Singh, who joins the 2011/12 Eredivisie runners-up as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round. "Feyenoord is a big club where good players like Dirk Kuyt, Robin van Persie and Roy Makaay have played. I hope to help Feyenoord have just as a good year as the last one. I look forward to playing in the Champions League, which will be a new experience for me."

Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel added: "He is a player with a lot of talent, who gets the opportunity with us to develop further. He is the type of player you can compare with Karim El Ahmadi [who has left to join Aston Villa FC]."
