Dynamo swoop to sign Ruben from Villarreal

FC Dynamo Kyiv have added to their attacking options with the signing of 25-year-old Argentinian forward Marco Ruben on a five-year deal from Spanish outfit Villarreal CF.

FC Dynamo Kyiv have swooped to sign forward Marco Ruben on a five-year deal from Villarreal CF.

The 25-year-old moved to Spain from Argentinian side CA River Plate in 2008 and scored nine goals in 31 Liga appearances last term as the Yellow Submarine were relegated. Ruben watched his team-mates contest their opening league game against FC Metalurh Donetsk on Saturday but is keen to make an impression at his new club.

"When the offer came from a great club like Dynamo I agreed to make a move," he said. "I'll miss the first round of the league, but will be ready to help my team-mates in the next game against FC Arsenal Kyiv."

The Bilo-Syni will enter the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round and will learn of their opponents in the draw on 20 July.
