Juventus FC defender Paolo Montero may miss the rest of the his side's UEFA Champions League campaign after sustaining a knee injury.

Ligament damage
The Uruguayan international tore a ligament in his left knee during Wednesday's UEFA Champions League Group D game between Juventus and RC Deportivo La Coruña at the Municipal de Riazor stadium.

Extended absence
Following a resonance imaging scan conducted on Thursday, doctors have predicted that Montero will be out of contention for at least the next 30 or 40 days, during which time Juventus have a number of vital games.

Vital games
Montero is therefore set to be unavailable for Juventus' two remaining Champions League games - their trip to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 12 March and their final game of the second group stage at home against Arsenal FC. He will also miss the major Serie A game against Internazionale FC on 9 March.
