• Oleh Blokhin will take charge of his first European Cup game after being appointed Dynamo coach following the dismissal of Yuri Semin on 24 September.

• Blokhin, who will also remain in charge of Ukraine for their two October FIFA World Cup qualifiers, last played in the European Cup – for Dynamo – in 1987.

• Zlatan Ibrahimović's opener in Paris Saint-Germain FC's 4-1 victory on matchday one was the 250th goal Dynamo have conceded in the European Cup.

• No team conceded more than Dynamo's four goals in the first round of games.

• The Ukrainian club had two shots on target in their first match, the joint lowest total in the competition along with Dinamo Zagreb, Juventus and Valencia CF.

• Raffael's 81st-minute strike earned Blokhin a 1-0 victory over FC Zorya Luhansk on Friday in his first match in charge.

• Semin and his backroom team were sacked following a 4-1 Ukrainian Cup loss to FC Shakhtar Donetsk on 23 September – the capital side's heaviest domestic defeat since Ukrainian independence.

• Olexandr Shovkovskiy announced his international retirement on 4 September; he won 92 caps for Ukraine following his debut in November 1994.

• Shevchenko, Ukraine's all-time leading goalscorer, retired in July and is now pursuing a career in politics.

• Ivan Kelava, Tonel and Domagoj Vida have played all 630 minutes of Dinamo's UEFA Champions League campaign, qualifying included.

• Dinamo's 2-0 loss to FC Porto on matchday one was their first defeat in 34 games since Ante Čačić took the reins on 23 December 2011, winning 24.

• The Croatian champions managed two shots on goal in their first match, the joint lowest total in the group stage along with Dynamo, Juventus and Valencia. Dinamo were also one of six teams not to receive a yellow card on matchday one.
