UEFA Champions League statistics
• City are 19 games unbeaten at home in UEFA competition, qualifying included, winning 14 and drawing five since a 1-0 UEFA Cup loss to FC Midtjylland in August 2008.

• City failed to reach the knockout phase last season despite collecting ten points in the group stage, matching the record for the highest points haul without advancing. SV Werder Bremen (2006/07), Olympiacos FC, FC Dynamo Kyiv (2004/05) and PSV Eindhoven (2003/04) all suffered an identical fate.

• The English champions have been caught offside 22 times, more than any other club.

• Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Touré have played all 360 minutes of City's group stage campaign so far.

• Kompany and Touré's next yellow cards will incur bans.

International duty
• City had 11 players on senior duty during the international break: Hart (England), Sergio Agüero, Pablo Zabaleta (Argentina), Mario Balotelli (Italy), Abdul Razak, Yaya Touré, Kolo Touré (Ivory Coast), Kompany (Belgium), Aleksandar Kolarov, Matija Nastasić (Serbia) and Edin Džeko (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

• City beat Aston Villa FC 5-0 on Saturday – their biggest win of the season – to stretch their unbeaten run at home in the Premier League to 36 matches, 33 of them wins.

• David Silva returned from nearly a month out with a hamstring injury to play the full 90 minutes of City's 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur FC on 11 November.

• City failed to score for the first time in 15 games this season, August's FA Community Shield included, when they drew 0-0 at West Ham United FC on 3 November.

• Micah Richards was ruled out for up to four months with a knee injury sustained in the 1-0 triumph against Swansea City AFC on 27 October. The England defender only made his first appearance of the campaign on 6 October because of an ankle problem.

• Agüero and Balotelli are in the running for the FIFA Ballon d'Or award, the winner of which will be announced on 7 January in Zurich. Roberto Mancini is nominated for the coaching prize.

UEFA Champions League statistics
• Dortmund's first goal on matchday four was the 200th Madrid have conceded in the UEFA Champions League, group stage to final; they have shipped 499 in all UEFA matches, scoring 946.

• Iker Casillas made his 126th UEFA Champions League outing, group stage to final, on matchday four, taking him third on his own in the all-time appearance list. Raúl González (142) leads the way, with Ryan Giggs (131) second.

• The Dortmund draw ended Madrid's run of seven straight UEFA Champions League wins at the Santiago Bernabéu, stretching back to their 2-0 defeat by FC Barcelona in the 2010/11 semi-finals.

• Madrid have scored ten goals, the joint highest total in the group stage alongside FC Bayern München, Paris Saint-Germain FC, Chelsea FC and Valencia CF.

• Madrid have had more attempts on target (49) than any other team in the group stage.

• Cristiano Ronaldo has had 19 attempts on target and scored five goals, both more than any other player. The Portuguese international has found the net 14 times in his last 11 UEFA Champions League appearances.

• Casillas, Pepe, Xabi Alonso and Ronaldo have played all 360 minutes of Madrid's group stage campaign so far.

• The Merengues have collected only three yellow cards, the joint lowest total along with FC Porto and GNK Dinamo Zagreb.

International duty
• Madrid had six players on senior duty during the international break: Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Raúl Albiol (Spain), Pepe (Portugal), Ángel Di María (Argentina) and Kaká (Brazil).

• Ramos scored for the second successive international as Spain won 5-1 against Panama on 14 November.

• Ronaldo won his 100th cap in Portugal's 1-1 home draw with Northern Ireland on 16 October.

Miscellaneous
• Ramos and Sami Khedira were on target with their first goals for Madrid since February and April, respectively, as José Mourinho's side beat Athletic Club 5-1 on Saturday. Mesut Özil scored his first Liga goal since 13 May, although he has since found the net six times for Germany and against Dortmund on matchday four.

• On 13 November, Casillas, Ramos and Alonso received their awards as the Liga's 2011/12 best goalkeeper, defender and holding midfielder respectively, as voted for by the top-flight coaches.

• Madrid's 2-1 win at Levante UD on 11 November took the team's Liga goals tally under Mourinho to 250.

• The 4-0 defeat of Real Zaragoza on 3 November was Mourinho's 100th victory in charge of Madrid in his 133rd game, making the Portuguese the quickest coach to a century in the club's history.

• Karim Benzema, Casillas, Mesut Özil, Ramos, Ronaldo, and Alonso are in the running for the FIFA Ballon d'Or award, the winner of which will be announced on 7 January in Zurich. Mourinho is nominated for the prize of FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men's Football 2012.

• Marcelo is likely to miss the rest of the group stage after breaking a metatarsal in training with Brazil on 13 October.

• Liga champions with a record 100 points and 121 goals last term, Madrid endured their worst start to a campaign for 11 years when they lost two and drew one of their first four games. They did beat Barcelona on away goals in the Spanish Super Cup, losing 3-2 away and winning 2-1 at home.
