Bayern trip is LOSC's 'last chance'

FC Bayern München coach Jupp Heynckes singles out Franck Ribéry as the inspiration behind their superb form while Rudi Garcia knows it is LOSC Lille's "last chance" in Group F.

FC Bayern München are level with two other teams on six UEFA Champions League Group F points so cannot afford to slip against the club yet to get off the mark, LOSC Lille. Bayern won 1-0 in France a fortnight ago and coach Jupp Heynckes singled out Franck Ribéry as the inspiration behind their tremendous season while Rudi Garcia knows it is LOSC's "last chance".

Jupp Heynckes, coach
Last year everybody told us we had the strongest group in the Champions League; this year the reaction to the draw was different. But in this competition you never meet weak opponents and it will be the same tomorrow. My team are in good shape, but we have to forget about all the praise we received recently. We have to stay focused, serious and responsible.

When I analysed our game on Saturday, I told the team I am very satisfied with our style of play. We play a brand of football that used to be played on the street. Franck is the best example, going forward when he can and helping out in defence. He is the symbol of our style: physically strong, technically excellent.

We are playing great football, but it is only November; the season has a long way to go. After last season, losing two finals, we are giving a bit more this term. We must not be satisfied yet, though. The atmosphere around the squad may even be too good, too euphoric. We have not won anything yet.

You can interpret the first game against Lille how you like. I would rather win 1-0 than risk bringing on another forward and risk being held to a draw. The game was very tense, and Lille showed great energy and were very well organised at the back. I expect a similar game here.

Weekend result
Saturday: Hamburger SV 0-3 Bayern (Schweinsteiger 39, Müller 48, Kroos 53)
Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Dante, Alaba; Schweinsteiger, Gustavo (Martínez 56); Müller, Kroos (Tymoshchuk 75), Ribéry (Rafinha 83); Mandžukić.

• Bayern stretched their lead at the German summit to seven points, becoming the first team ever to win their first five Bundesliga away games without conceding. Their goal difference of +26 is also a record for this stage of the campaign.

Team news
Mario Mandžukić is a doubt through illness, while Emre Can misses out because of an ankle injury. Lukas Raeder (knee) and Mario Gomez (ankle) are yet to play this term, and though the latter is back in training Heynckes says he is not ready for action. Arjen Robben will start despite being rested in Hamburg with a cold.

LOSC
Rudi Garcia, coach
The special thing about football is that an outsider is always able to beat a champion. There are many examples of this. We want to risk something; we are not here to give away three points and return home without having tried everything.

Of course we are not in the very best situation. We need to put on a good performance, it is our last chance. Of course it will be the most difficult game in the group, here in Munich at Bayern's home ground. But we will give everything and are looking forward to this challenge. In the first game, we could have risked more. We should not forget that there are not too many teams that have won here in Munich, either in the Bundesliga or in the Champions League

It is a privilege to be here, to play against Bayern. We want to enjoy being here and we hope to put on a really great performance tomorrow.

Weekend result
Saturday: Évian Thonon Gaillard FC 0-2 LOSC (Roux 40, Balmont 62)
Landreau; Bonnart, Chedjou, Baša (Pedretti 46), Debuchy (Sidibe 75); Rozehnal, Balmont, Martin; Payet, Kalou, Roux (De Melo 81).

• Florent Balmont's first goal since last December sealed LOSC's first away win since the opening day of the Ligue 1 season.

Team news
Full-backs Franck Béria and Mathieu Debuchy (both calf) and central defender Marko Baša (hamstring) all face fitness tests on Wednesday. Idrissa Gueye (ankle), Ryan Mendes (ankle), Lucas Digne (meniscus) and Adama Soumaoro (back) are out, though captain Rio Mavuba was on the bench on Saturday having recovered from knee surgery just five weeks ago.

Match fact
LOSC have never scored in Germany and have lost their last three fixtures against Bundesliga sides.
