Mauricio Pellegrino, Valencia coach
Yes, I'm happy. These are three important points for us. We still have to play against Bayern here, and that will be the decisive game. The group is still not completely settled. If BATE win their next match they will be there, but we depend on ourselves.
I didn't like the goals we conceded tonight. Overall we played a disciplined match but if you make mistakes, BATE score goals. We are slowly finding positive details in the team, but there are things to improve. The crowd pushes us a lot and that helps us at the hardest times. This triumph is for everyone.
Viktor Goncharenko, BATE coach
As you can see from our performance, we continue to follow our own way no matter what. We play the way we can, the way we ask the lads to play. We made many mistakes in the middle of the park and they eventually lead to conceding goals. But I liked how we reacted after coming in 2-0 down at the end of the first half.
After the break we managed to draw level with Valencia [in terms of play], created enough chances and scored twice. Bayern produced a hell of a result [winning 6-1 against LOSC]. Now we are trailing Bayern and Valencia by three points. The next matchday will be decisive. Obviously we have to win that before the last match.
Before Sasha [Aleksandr Hleb] got tired he was very useful and effective and directed our attacks. Later on it became harder for him. But you have to assess the team as a unit and not just one single player. One has to consider the level of the other team and their resistance. Of course you always want to play as well as you can. We tried hard to create chances and we did find some and took a couple of them. But the level of the other side eventually told.
