FC Dynamo Kyiv had a rude awakening to Group A when they lost 4-1 at Paris Saint-Germain FC on matchday one and must now turn the tide as the teams meet again in Ukraine with PSG needing only a draw to join FC Porto in the last 16.

• On 18 September, PSG's Zlatan Ibrahimović opened the scoring from the penalty spot before centre-backs Thiago Silva and Alex added further goals. Miguel Veloso pulled one back but Javier Pastore made it 4-1.

• The Kyiv club then beat GNK Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 at home in Oleh Blokhin's first UEFA Champions League match as a coach before the double header against Porto resulted in a 3-2 away defeat and a goalless home draw.

• The French side followed their opening win with a 1-0 defeat in Portugal. They then won away (2-0) and home (4-0) against Dinamo Zagreb and have nine points, one fewer than already-qualified Porto but five more than third-placed Dynamo, who must win in Kyiv to have any chance of overtaking their opponents.

Previous meetings
• The sides last met in Ukraine in a UEFA Cup quarter-final second leg on 16 April 2009 when Dynamo won 3-0 with Ognjen Vukojević scoring the third. The game at the Parc des Princes had ended goalless.

• The lineups in Kyiv were:
Dynamo: Bogush, Betão, Vukojević, Sabljić, Aliyev, Bangoura (Corrêa 69), Eremenko, Milevskiy, El Kaddouri, Ninković (Ghioane 83), Yussuf (Nesmachniy 82).
PSG: Landreau, Ceará, Makelele, Luyindula, Hoarau (Giuly 68), Sessegnon, Traoré (Bourillon 16), Camara, Chantôme, Armand, Clément (Rothen 46).

• The teams' only other fixtures came in the 1994/95 UEFA Champions League group stage, PSG winning 2-1 away and 1-0 at home. Goalkeeper Olexandr Shovkovskiy, then just 19, appeared in both games for Dynamo.

• PSG defeated SC Tavriya Simferopol 5-0 on aggregate in the 2001 UEFA Intertoto Cup third round with a 1-0 away win. In the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League group stage they drew 1-1 away against FC Karpaty Lviv and won 2-0 at home.

• In four other home games against French sides, Dynamo's single victory was a 2-0 success against AS Saint-Étienne in the 1975/76 European Champion' Clubs Cup quarter-final first leg, although they went down 3-0 in the return. The other three contests ended in two draws and a defeat.

• Dynamo are involved in their 14th UEFA Champions League group campaign but their first since 2009/10.

• PSG are in the UEFA Champions League for the fifth time. Their goals in Zagreb were their first in five European away games, having also failed to score away in last season's UEFA Europa League group stage.
