Landmarks in sight for Steaua and FCK

FC Steaua Bucureşti and FC København will both look to reach European goalscoring milestones as the sides meet following decent starts in UEFA Europa League Group E.

FC Steaua Bucureşti's streak of victories was stopped at three with their matchday one draw at VfB Stuttgart, and the Romanian club are likely to endure a tricky 90 minutes at home to FC København in UEFA Europa League Group E as they bid to return to winning ways.

Previous meetings
• The sides are meeting for the first time in UEFA competition.

• Steaua's four previous games against Danish clubs ended W2 D1 L1 (W2 D0 L0 at home – W0 D1 L1 in Denmark). They won both of their two-legged ties against Superliga sides.

• København's only previous encounters with Romanian opposition came in the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League group stage, where they lost 2-0 away and won 2-0 at home against CFR 1907 Cluj.

Match background
• A 2-2 draw at VfB Stuttgart on matchday one ended a run of three straight European wins for Steaua, in which they had not conceded a single goal.

• FCK failed to win an away game in last season's UEFA Europa League group stage, following up a 3-0 defeat with two scoring draws.

• This is Steaua's sixth UEFA Cup or UEFA Europa League group stage campaign: they have come through to the round of 32 in three of their previous five attempts. They are only one of seven clubs to have participated in all four UEFA Europa League group stages.

• Steaua are unbeaten in their last seven group stage home games – three wins and four draws.

• This is København's fifth group stage campaign in this competition, having made it through to the round of 32 in two of their four previous attempts.

Team facts
• FCK are three goals shy of their 100th in the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League; this is their 70th game in the two competitions.

• Steaua are within two goals of their 350th in UEFA competition. This is their 255th European game.

• A right-sided midfielder, Laurenţiu Reghecampf was capped once by Romania and played for Steaua from 1996 to 2000, before finishing his career in Germany with FC Energie Cottbus, Alemannia Aachen and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Since taking up coaching in 2009, he has had eight jobs; he has been in charge of FC Snagov three times, FC Universitatea Craiova twice and CF Gloria 1922 Bistriţa and FC Concordia Chiajna once each, taking command at Steaua in the summer of 2012.

• FCK's coach is Ariël Jacobs, who led RSC Anderlecht (2007–12), winning two titles and a Belgian Cup to add to the one he picked up at RAA Louviéroise in 2002/03. Once a striker with K. Diegem Sport, the 59-year-old coached national youth teams and assisted Guy Thys as senior Belgium boss before returning to club football.

• Jacobs took charge of Anderlecht midway through the 2007/08 UEFA Cup group stage, steering them through to the round of 16. He repeated that feat in 2009/10, and then led them to the last 32 in 2010/11 and 2011/12. He has thus never failed to lead a side through a European group stage.
