Inga Birna Fridjónsdóttir

Stjarnan

Previous clubs: Tindastóll, Thór/KA/KS, Breidablik, Team Viborg.

National team: Iceland

Domestic honours: Icelandic Women's Premier Division (1).

Which player most inspired you and why? Nobody in particular.

Which coach most inspired you? Hugi Halldórsson, he is the one who got me to raise the bar so much higher and made me realise that my dreams of playing at the highest level in Iceland and playing with the national team could actually come true.

What was the best advice they gave you? When I beat myself up after not scoring from a good chance he used to tell me that, I would always get another one. That may be very basic but has worked very well to tell myself that when things are not working out.

Best player you've played with? Thóra Björg Helgadóttir.

Toughest opponent? Bröndby IF, away, in Autumn 2011.

What are your memories of your first club as a child? Many memories come to mind, but my first one is probably from my first training session in Sweden. I was six and the coaches said in the warm up that we ran like elephants.

What tip would you give a young player hoping to succeed? Believe in yourself and focus on what you are doing and want to achieve. Always know that there is more to learn. Respect your team.
