Udinese Calcio could be forced to negotiate the whole of their UEFA Europa League group stage campaign without Luis Muriel.
Muriel has been ruled out of action for around nine weeks because of a fracture to his left thigh bone. The 21-year-old, capped once by Colombia, has been suffering pain in the ankle since the beginning of pre-season training and has subsequently undergone further tests in recent days. Muriel had appeared in both of Udinese's Serie A fixtures so far this term.
The Friulani begin their UEFA Europa League campaign at home to FC Anzhi Makhachkala on 20 September and will also take on BSC Young Boys and Liverpool FC in Group A.
