Ibrahimović kicks off new Champions Matchday

Zlatan Ibrahimović speaks to the new-look Champions Matchday, the competition's official magazine, available a week before every UEFA Champions League matchday.

To mark the start of another eagerly awaited UEFA Champions League season, Champions Matchday – the official magazine for the competition – returns with an exclusive interview with one of European football's most fascinating talents.

In a wide-ranging conversation, new Paris Saint-Germain FC striker Zlatan Ibrahimović reveals that he is not fazed by all the transfer fees that have been paid for him, that it was his "destiny" to play for Carlo Ancelotti and that his new club have the ability to become the first Ligue 1 side to win this competition since Olympique de Marseille in 1993.

The new campaign also sees a new-look Champions Matchday. From this season, the magazine will be available a week before every UEFA Champions League matchday, providing essential insight into European football's premier club competition, with exclusive interviews, expert analysis and timely previews and reviews of the most compelling action.

Elsewhere in the first new edition, Champions Matchday explores what Luka Modrić should expect from his first month at Real Madrid CF, discovers why Robin van Persie is so important to Manchester United FC, and talks exclusively to Arsenal FC left-back André Santos and FC Schalke 04 coach Huub Stevens.

The magazine also includes profiles of all 32 clubs in the group stage, the inside story of Tito Vilanova's succession at FC Barcelona and an infographic celebrating and explaining how goals are scored in the UEFA Champions League.

The new edition is available on newsstands across Europe from 12 September and in a digital version. For the first time, this season you can follow the magazine on Twitter @ChampionsMag.
