Daniel Alves

FC Barcelona

• Failed to win the Liga title in his fourth season at FC Barcelona, having triumphed in the previous three, but remained a dynamic presence at right-back in Josep Guardiola's side, who finished second to Real Madrid CF in the top flight and also reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

• Won the Copa del Rey, contributing a goal in the second leg of the quarter-final victory over holders Madrid but missing the showpiece against Athletic Club with a fractured collarbone.

• Helped Barça make a brilliant start to the 2012/13 Liga campaign with six straight wins and also held his place in the Brazil side counting down to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
