Xavi Hernández

FC Barcelona

• Helped Spain retain their UEFA European Championship crown in Poland and Ukraine, producing a typically inspired performance in the final against Italy, in which he set up two of his team's four goals.

• Won the Copa del Rey with FC Barcelona and, although the Azulgrana failed to win the Liga for the fourth year in succession, he scored ten times in the championship, reaching double figures for the first time in his career.

• Started his 15th season as a Barça first-team player with a bang as the team now coached by Tito Vilanova dropped just two points in the Liga by the end of October and also won their first three UEFA Champions League group games.
