Málaga land Chelsea's Piazón on loan

Málaga CF have reinforced their squad ahead of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against FC Porto with midfielder Lucas Piazón arriving on loan from Chelsea FC.

Málaga CF have signed Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Piazón on loan from Chelsea FC until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old – who has made three senior appearances for Chelsea, all this term, since arriving from São Paulo FC in 2011 – took part in his first training session with the southern Spanish club today and will be officially presented at La Rosaleda on Thursday. Piazon represented Brazil at Under-15 level and went on to feature at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico where his country finished fourth.

Having negotiated the UEFA Champions League group stage as Group C winners in their first appearance in the tournament, Málaga face FC Porto in the round of 16 with the first leg at the Estádio do Dragão on 19 February.
