Shakhtar

UEFA Champions League statistics
• Andriy Pyatov, Olexandr Kucher, Răzvan Raţ, Yaroslav Rakitskiy, Fernandinho, Darijo Srna and Henrikh Mkhitaryan played every minute of Shakhtar's group campaign.

• Kucher is banned on matchday seven; Luiz Adriano served a one-game ban on matchday six. He and Tomáš Hübschman will incur a suspension with their next bookings.

Out
Willian (FC Anji Makhachkala), Dentinho (Beşiktaş JK), Olexiy Polyanskiy

• Taison's €15.2m switch is the biggest between two Ukrainian clubs while Willian's €35m price tag made him the most expensive player sold by a Ukrainian side.

International duty
• Eight Shakhtar players were on senior international duty last week: Pyatov, Vyacheslav Shevchuk, Taras Stepanenko, Marko Dević and Olexandr Kucher (Ukraine), Mkhitaryan (Armenia), Srna (Croatia) and Raţ (Romania).

• Pyatov saved a Tarik Elyounoussi penalty as Ukraine defeated Norway 2-0 in Seville last Wednesday.

• Srna won his 100th cap in Croatia's 4-0 win against South Korea at Craven Cottage, London. He marked the occasion with the 20th goal of his international career.

Miscellaneous
• Shakhtar are in the middle of their three-month domestic winter break, which started at the end of November and finishes on 1 March when they host FC Volyn Lutsk.

• Shakhtar have been in supreme friendly form, triumphing in ten of their 12 outings and winning tournaments in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and La Manga, Spain. The victories came against Zamalek SC (3-2), FK Lokomotiv Tashkent (2-1), al-Hilal SC (3-2), FC Zenit St Petersburg (3-1), IFK Göteborg (2-1), a free agents XI (3-1), Rosenborg BK (1-0), GKS Piast Gliwice (3-0), PFC CSKA Moskva (2-0) and RTS Widzew Łódź (2-1). The losses were 1-0 defeats by FC Metalist Kharkiv and, in their most recent outing on 3 February, Norway's Odds BK.

• Already qualified, Shakhtar's 1-0 loss to Juventus on matchday six was their only defeat at the Donbass Arena in 2012. They had won 16 in a row at home in all competitions before the reverse.

• Mkhitaryan's tally of 18 league goals this term is already the best return for a campaign by a Shakhtar player since Olexiy Byelik (21) in 2002/03. The Armenia forward's highest mark before this season was 12, for FC Pyunik in 2007.

• Alex Teixeira has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, two more than his 2011/12 haul.

• Shakhtar this season became the first team to win the first 15 games of a Ukrainian top-flight campaign.

• Mircea Lucescu's side lost 2-0 at FC Arsenal Kyiv on 17 November, ending the club's national record runs of 24 consecutive Ukrainian Premier League victories and 34 top-flight matches in a row in which they scored at least once.

• Shakhtar's 20-game unbeaten start to the season, including 19 wins, ended at Chelsea FC on matchday four.

Dortmund

UEFA Champions League statistics
• Dortmund have scored 146 European Cup goals. They have conceded 197 goals in UEFA competition.

• The German club were caught offside seven times in the group stage, fewer than any other team in the last 16.

• Dortmund are one of four unbeaten sides in the competition, along with FC Schalke 04, Juventus and Málaga CF.

• Roman Weidenfeller and Marcel Schmelzer played every minute of Dortmund's group stage campaign.

In
Marcel Halstenberg, Jonas Hofmann, Nuri Şahin (Real Madrid CF, loan)

Out
Mustafa Amini, Chris Löwe (1. FC Kaiserslautern), Ivan Perišić (VfL Wolfsburg)

• Şahin has returned to Dortmund in an 18-month loan deal.

International duty
• Six Dortmund players were on senior duty during last week's international break: Mats Hummels, İlkay Gündoğan, Sven Bender (Germany), Jakub Błaszczykowski, Robert Lewandowski (Poland) and Şahin (Turkey).

• Schmelzer, Mario Götze and Marco Reus pulled out of the Germany squad through illness and injury. Hummels and Gündoğan played 90 minutes against France on Wednesday, Gündoğan setting up Thomas Müller's equaliser in a 2-1 win.

• Moritz Leitner was a half-time substitute for Germany Under-21s as they lost 1-0 in Italy.

Miscellaneous
• Dortmund's five-match winning run in all competitions ended with Saturday's 4-1 defeat at home to Hamburger SV, who had ended Dortmund's 31-match unbeaten league run in September. A 3-2 victory at Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 3 February allowed Jürgen Klopp's side to leapfrog their opponents into second spot in the Bundesliga but FC Bayern München, unbeaten since October, remain well clear.

• Saturday's loss was Dortmund's heaviest defeat since going down 5-1 at home to Bayern on 12 September 2009.

• Lewandowski has registered a goal in each of the club's last six matches while on Saturday he was also sent off on 31 minutes, his first dismissal in Germany – Hamburg's Jeffrey Bruma saw red on 59 minutes.

• Gündogan has been out of the starting XI in five Bundesliga games this season; Dortmund failed to win any.

• Dortmund are 13 games unbeaten away from home in all competitions, winning eight, since a 3-2 loss at Hamburg on 22 September.

• Neven Subotić has not played since injuring his calf on 5 January during training, but was an unused substitute on Saturday. Kevin Grosskreutz missed the match with flu.

• Dortmund will travel to Bayern on 27 February in the German Cup quarter-finals.

• Subotić (until summer 2016), Grosskreutz (2016), Bender (2017) and Schmelzer (2017) have signed contract extensions this year.
