Ferrer watching history unfold at Levante

With UEFA Europa League debutants Levante UD experiencing a new chapter in their history, UEFA.com meets the man who dedicates his time to chronicling their lofty ascent.

With UEFA Europa League debutants Levante UD living out a new chapter in their history, UEFA.com goes behind the scenes with evergreen defender Juanfran and prominent housekeeper José Ramón Ferrer, who nurtures a "second home" – the Liga team's museum.

Having served the Valencia-based club for more than a quarter of a century, Ferrer is not confined to the museum. He epitomises Levante's strong ties with their supporters and the local community, helping to prepare the pitch and the stadium on matchdays with meticulous attention to detail.

"[The museum] took some time to put together. I started ten to 12 years ago and it has become the place you are seeing right now," said Ferrer. "This is my second home because my entire life is projected here."

Juanfran returned to Levante in 2010, 13 years after leaving for Valencia CF, and also feels at home. "I went to watch the team play when I was a kid with my grandparents. I lived 500m from the stadium. It just means everything to me. It's the team of my neighbourhood, the team of my city and the team I always wanted to play for," said the 36-year-old full-back.

After making light work of Olympiacos FC in the round of 32, Levante tackle FC Rubin Kazan on 7 March in the first instalment of their last-16 tie.
