Lazio's Konko facing six-week lay-off

Abdoulay Konko will miss both instalments of S.S. Lazio's UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie against VfB Stuttgart after the defender succumbed to a knee complaint.

S.S. Lazio have been deprived of full-back Abdoulay Konko for both legs of their UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie against VfB Stuttgart after the 28-year-old suffered a knee injury. 

Konko limped off in the seventh minute of Monday's 2-0 Serie A home victory over Pescara Calcio and faces up to six weeks on the sidelines. The Frenchman has featured four times in this season's UEFA Europa League, playing the full 90 minutes as the Biancocelesti overcame VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0 (5-3 on aggregate) last Thursday to book their place in the last 16. 

Vladimir Petković's side travel to Stuttgart on 7 March with the return leg scheduled for 14 March.
