FC Lusitans have retained their Andorran Primer Divisió title with two games to spare after producing a 4-2 win against third-placed UE Sant Julià.
Involved in a four-team play-off for the championship with Sant Juliá, FC Santa Coloma and UE Santa Coloma, Lusitans' third victory from four games – brought about by a Luis Dos Reis hat-trick and a further strike from Bruninho – meant that the side formed in 1999 added a second league title to their trophy cabinet after last year's breakthrough triumph.
The reigning champions started Sunday's encounter strongly and had a man advantage after Sant Julià defender Walter Wagner was ordered off. Dos Reis' subsequent left-footed free-kick found the net for 1-0, and the forward made it 2-0 with a powerful shot from an acute angle after the break. He then completed his hat-trick with a strike from inside the area shortly after the hour mark. Bruninho's run and subsequent drive inside the near post a minute later made the game safe for Lusitans, despite late strikes from Francesc Girau and Manuel Veiga 'Riera'.
The champions will complete their Primera Divisió campaign with fixtures against UE Santa Coloma and FC Santa Coloma, before taking on FC Ordino in the Andorran Cup quarter-finals at the end of April.
