Beware Bulgaria, says Olsen

Denmark coach Morten Olsen has warned his players not to underestimate Bulgaria ahead of Friday's Group C game in Braga.

'Better team'
Bulgaria matched Sweden for long periods of their opening fixture on Monday and it was only after Henrik Larsson struck twice in a minute just before the hour that the outcome of the game looked certain. Olsen said: "I thought the Bulgarians were the better team until Sweden scored their second goal. I'm expecting a very difficult match."

'Out-and-out wingers'
Denmark impressed in their opener, enjoying the better of a goalless draw with Italy – largely thanks to their productive wing play. But Olsen believes they will not have the same freedom on the flanks against Bulgaria. "They play a similar type of 4-3-3 as we do," he explained. "A lot of teams play 4-3-3 but not many play with out-and-out wingers like Denmark and Bulgaria."

Olsen expectant
Unlike many experts, Olsen is refusing to dismiss Bulgaria's chances of qualifying from the group. "They have just as good a chance as we do," he insisted. "I expect them to come out and really attack us from the first whistle."

Clear objective
Striker Ebbe Sand, meanwhile, has a clear objective. "We just have to beat Bulgaria," he said. "One-nil would be good enough for us. We're going to follow Morten Olsen's tactical plan 100 per cent, just like we did against Italy."

Gravesen poised
Olsen is giving little away with regard to the composition of his team, although Thomas Gravesen, suspended against Italy, is expected to return in place of Daniel Jensen while Jesper Grønkjær should come in for Dennis Rommedahl after joining the squad late due to a family bereavement.
