Legia Warszawa reached the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2006/07 after beating The New Saints FC 1-0 at home to seal a comfortable aggregate victory.

Leading 3-1 after the first leg in Wrexham, Legia never looked in danger of surrendering their advantage and scored the only goal of the game through Georgian forward Vladimir Dvalishvili eight minutes after the interval.

The hosts began brightly but struggled to create clear-cut chances. The best opportunity of the first half fell to defender Dosa Júnior, who failed to test TNS goalkeeper Paul Harrison from close range following Michał Żyro's corner. Jan Urban's side continued to press forward after half-time, however, and got their reward in the 53rd minute, Dvalishvili finishing well from ten metres following Miroslav Radović's ball from deep.

Dominik Furman twice went close to doubling Legia's lead on the night, hitting the woodwork and seeing an effort cleared off the line, but a 1-0 win was more than enough for the Polish champions who now face Molde FK in the third qualifying round, with the first leg in Norway next week.
