Despite a desire to "win every game", FC Schalke 04 coach Jens Keller hinted that he would be content with a point when the Group E leaders host Chelsea FC. With several first-team players absent, the 42-year-old also bestowed praise on teenage midfielder Leon Goretzka, while José Mourinho is expecting a stern examination of his side's resolve.

Jens Keller, coach
Both Arsenal and Chelsea are top English sides with enormous quality. We have taken a lot of confidence from recent results and performances in the Champions League over the past years. With the fans behind us, we want to give our best.

I have always said I want to win every game. However, a draw would be OK – we could certainly live with that. We have watched several Chelsea games. José Mourinho is a great coach with lots of qualities and he has achieved a lot. I have the utmost respect for him.

Every game you play influences the next one and a good performance in the Champions League gives you a boost. We are seeing Leon Goretzka's development as very positive. He has great ability and we will try and get him more involved with the first team. However, playing in the Bundesliga and playing in the Champions League is completely different, so we'll have to see.

Weekend result
Saturday: TSV Eintracht Braunschweig 2-3 FC Schalke 04 (Ademi 20, Bellarabi 59; Meyer 29, Goretzka 65, Neustädter 90+1)
Fährmann; Uchida, Höwedes, Felipe Santana, Aogo; Höger (Goretzka 36), Neustädter; Clemens (Kolasinac 88), Meyer (Fuchs 83), Draxler; Szalai.

• Twice behind, the Royal Blues were helped to victory by the first Bundesliga goal from 18-year-old Goretzka, a replacement for Marco Höger, who suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Team news
"We are terribly disappointed about the injury to Marco Höger," said Keller, but he does expect to have Jermaine Jones, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Timo Hildebrand back.

Chelsea
José Mourinho, manager
It's not time to start worrying about the number of points we have just yet. Tomorrow we'll play our strongest opponents in the group and it won't be easy. [André] Schürrle still needs time to adapt to a different league but he is a good player and an honest kid, who wants to learn. Samuel Eto'o needs time. I have spoken to John Terry about him and we both agree he has great quality.

The profile of the team is different to when I was here before. The older players are at the best stage of their careers. At the same time, we have a lot of youngsters in the creative areas of the pitch. We used to be physically very strong but things are different now. We have to play a different kind of football with a different philosophy. I am building a new side and it's very enjoyable.

Weekend result
Saturday: Chelsea FC 4-1 Cardiff City AFC (Hazard 33 82, Eto'o 66, Oscar 78; Mutch 10)
Čech; Ivanović, Luiz, Terry, Bertrand (Torres 64); Ramires, Lampard; Willian, Mata (Oscar 59), Hazard; Eto'o (Azpilicueta 69).

• Eto'o scored his first goal for the club in Saturday's comeback win. Petr Čech made his 300th Premier League appearance as Mourinho's undefeated run at Stamford Bridge extended to 64 top-flight fixtures.

Team news
Fernando Torres returned at the weekend from a knee injury sustained at FC Steaua Bucureşti on matchday two, but Ashley Cole and Schürrle missed out and the England left-back has not travelled to Germany. Marco van Ginkel (knee ligament damage, 24 September) is expected to be out until March.

Match fact
• These teams last met in the 2007/08 group stage, with the game in Germany ending scoreless. Chelsea were 2-0 victors at Stamford Bridge with goals from Florent Malouda (4) and Didier Drogba (47).
