Blanc's Paris refuse to relent against Anderlecht

"We have to be wary of easing off," warned Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc as his side host RSC Anderlecht knowing victory will take them through to the last 16.

Coach Laurent Blanc promised there would be no let-up from Group C frontrunners Paris Saint-Germain FC when they entertain RSC Anderlecht at the Parc des Princes.

The capital club are five points clear and within touching distance of the UEFA Champions League knockout phase after dismantling Tuesday's opponents 5-0 on matchday three, but Blanc is too savvy to fall victim to complacency. In the opposing dugout, John van den Brom is willing to sacrifice his footballing principles in a bid to earn his team their first group stage points.

• Paris will progress with a win, and as group winners if the game between Olympiacos FC and SL Benfica ends in a draw.

Paris
Laurent Blanc, coach
When everything is going well, we have to be wary of easing off. If we're not motivated tomorrow, then I don't understand football anymore. With the right result we can be sure of qualifying, and potentially win the group. We had difficulties at Olympiacos, then we did what we had to do at Benfica and against Anderlecht, but we need to build on those results.

We'll try and field the best possible team, because we've been fighting since the start [of the group stage] to qualify and we now have the chance to book our ticket for the last 16. It may be the most important match of the group stage. Anderlecht conceded five in the first game, so they'll want to make things difficult for us. But rest assured: we have prepared for this match well and we're ready for it.

Weekend result
Friday: Paris 4-0 FC Lorient (Lucas 3, Ménez 39, Cavani 43 81)
Sirigu; Marquinhos, Alex, Digne, Jallet; Motta (Pastore 69), Verratti (Matuidi 69), Rabiot; Lucas (Lavezzi 76), Ménez, Cavani.

• With Zlatan Ibrahimović rested due to a knee knock, Edinson Cavani's double took him to the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts on nine goals on a night when Javier Pastore returned to action after more than a month out.

Team news
Kingsley Coman is injured, while Cavani (thigh) and Ibrahimović are doubtful, with Blanc reluctant to take too many chances on either, noting: "Ibra's injury is not too serious, but could be aggravated if not handled right." Thiago Silva is poised for his comeback from a hamstring strain that has kept him out since 22 September.

Anderlecht
John van den Brom, coach
In football every team plays to win and that's what PSG will do tomorrow – they won't show any mercy for Anderlecht. After three matches it's going to be very difficult for us to qualify, but anything is possible in football. It's important for us to make amends for the first leg.

We know more about our opponents after the first match but will it be enough to claim at least a point? We'll see how the match progresses. I appreciate nice flowing football but sometimes you have to be more solid. The most important thing is that we are organised.
