Osasuna pin hopes on new coach Gracia

Having recently guided UD Almería back into the Spanish top flight, coach Javier Gracia's next task will be to lift CA Osasuna from the bottom of the Liga standings.

CA Osasuna have charged Javier Gracia with the task of reviving the Liga club's fortunes with the new coach arriving at El Sadar on a two-year contract.

A former Real Valladolid CF, Real Sociedad de Fútbol, Villarreal CF and Córdoba CF midfielder, the Pamplona native takes over from José Luis Mendilibar who was dismissed on Tuesday. The 43-year-old Gracia guided UD Almería to promotion to the Spanish top flight last term before leaving the post in the summer.

The ex-Cádiz CF, Villarreal B, Olympiacos Volou FC and Kerkyra FC tactician's first game at the helm of Osasuna – currently bottom of the Liga standings after three defeats in as many matches – will be Sunday's trip to Getafe CF.
