City home form cheers Nasri

"I hope this moment will continue until the end of the season," said Samir Nasri after Manchester City FC made it 22 goals in four home games in beating "improving" FC Viktoria Plzeň 4-2.

"We have to copy that form away from home," said scorer Samir Nasri after Manchester City FC's 4-2 defeat of FC Viktoria Plzeň made it 22 goals from their last four games on their own ground to maintain their mathematical chances of catching fellow UEFA Champions League qualifiers FC Bayern München at the Group D summit. As for Plzeň, goalscorer Tomáš Hořava said that another improved display had given them added confidence for their own 10 December showdown with PFC CSKA Moskva, when a UEFA Europa League place will be up for grabs.

Samir Nasri, City midfielder
I am really happy with my form at the moment but the most important thing is that the team continues to win and keeps up the good form at home so I am really happy – I hope this moment will continue until the end of the season.

The manager told us that Plzeň were a good team, the best team in their country, so they're used to attacking and they do it well. It was a tough game but at the end the most important thing was the win.
[On their scoring run] We are going to try to continue like this and to improve our defending because we conceded two goals tonight and we cannot score four goals every game. We need to improve like that as a team and we’re going to work to improve it.

We are confident, but the league and the Champions League is not just games at home – we have to copy that form away from home as well because for the moment we've struggled away from home and need to improve in that sense.

We’re going to go there [to Bayern] and try to win the game because we want to finish top of the group. It is always an advantage to finish top although the most important thing is qualification. We're going to go there and play without pressure.

Aleksandar Kolarov, City defender
It was a very difficult game for us. We knew we had qualified and until the end [Plzeň] made it difficult for us but I think we deserved the win and that we were the better team.  We score a lot of goals at home – we have to keep doing this and try to score some more goals away.

It was important to win tonight so we have the chance to beat Bayern and maybe be first in the group. It’s important so we can try to avoid some big teams but even in second place we're happy to be in the last 16. We'll see what happens in Munich.

Tomáš Hořava, Plzeň midfielder
We are big underdogs and playing at City is a huge thing for us and I think they underestimated us quite a bit and we made the most of it. I think we played a great game. We equalised twice and to be honest I thought we were going to come away with a point but unfortunately we keep conceding far too many goals from midfield and that's a problem. City are a great team but we created lots of chances tonight and perhaps we did deserve a point.

We are improving game by game in the Champions League, we improved against Bayern and we gave another improved performance again tonight so I think we've definitely got a great chance to beat [CSKA] at home.

[On his goal] I passed the ball to Daniel Kolář and he returned it to me – he saw me breaking into space down the side. I didn’t want to overthink it, I just wanted to finish it nicely and fortunately I managed to do that.
