Sosa seals loan switch to Atlético

José Ernesto Sosa has joined Club Atlético de Madrid on loan for the rest of the season from FC Metalist Kharkiv.

The Argentinian midfielder passed a medical on Thursday to seal a reunion with Diego Simeone, his coach at CA Estudiantes in 2006/07. The 28-year-old, known as El Principito (The Little Prince), has since had spells at FC Bayern München and SSC Napoli, and joined Metalist in 2010. He has started 17 of the Ukrainian side's 18 league games this season, helping his team to third place going into the winter break.

"I'm happy to be here; now I'm eager to start training with Atlético as soon as possible," Sosa said. "They're a big club who are having a very good spell and I'm proud to belong to a team like that. I'm sure the fans enjoyed last year, and hopefully we can do more of the same this year."
