Rehhagel raring to go

Greece coach Otto Rehhagel told euro2004.com today that he is hoping for "a great final" against Portugal at the Estádio da Luz on Sunday night.

Fans praised
Speaking to euro2004.com, the German praised the Portuguese people for their support during the competition, despite Greece's surprise 2-1 victory over the host team in the opening game on 12 June. The Greece squad, who were heading to Lisbon today, had a final training session behind closed doors in Braga this morning.

Away game
"We are very happy to be playing in this game which, however, is still an away game for us," said Rehhagel, mindful that Greek fans will be vastly outnumbered at the Estádio da Luz. "I want to thank the Portuguese people because they have treated us very well since we have been here, even though we beat them in the first match."

'Something special'
Rehhagel has described his team's success at these finals as a "miracle". He and his players will get their first look at the Estádio da Luz in their pre-match training session tomorrow and he added: "I hope this will be a great final. It is something special that the two teams that played in the first game are playing again in the last game of the tournament."
