AC Milan have confirmed the loan signing of Moroccan international Adel Taarabt from Queens Park Rangers FC until the end of the season.

The former RC Lens attacking midfielder, who has spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Fulham FC, becomes Clarence Seedorf's fourth recruit of the January transfer window, arriving at San Siro after Adil Rami, Keisuke Honda and Michael Essien. Taarabt has made 12 Premier League appearances this term.

"I'm proud to play for the best club in the world," said the 24-year-old, whom Milan will have the option of snapping up permanently. "I spoke with Seedorf and we're both happy. I'm a forward and I like to play behind the strikers. I have never met Mario Balotelli personally but I know who he is and it'll be a pleasure to play with him."

Taarabt started his career in England with Tottenham Hotspur FC in 2007 before moving to QPR two years later, initially on loan. He helped the west London outfit to promotion to the Premier League, scoring 19 goals in 44 second-tier matches in 2010/11.

Ninth in Serie A, Milan face Club Atlético de Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, with the first leg in Italy on 19 February.
