Four-year contract
The 28-year-old Émerson, who has agreed a four-year contract, joins up with former Roma coach Fabio Capello at the Stadio Delle Alpi. The former Bayer 04 Leverkusen player has won 55 international caps but missed out on the 2002 FIFA World Cup after a freak accident in training left him with a shoulder injury. Juventus midfield player Matteo Brighi, 23, has moved to Roma for €16m as part of the deal.
Champions League
Juventus were yesterday paired with either Djurgårdens IF of Sweden or Lithuania's FBK Kaunas in the draw for the final UEFA Champions League qualifying round. Roma are one of 16 clubs already in the group stage having finished second behind AC Milan in Serie A last season.
