SSC Napoli have reinforced their attack ahead of the UEFA Champions League play-offs by signing Michu on loan from Swansea City AFC, with the option to make the deal permanent.
"Welcome, Michu," tweeted Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis as the 28-year-old started to work with his new team-mates at the southern Italian club's Dimaro training camp. The Spanish forward is Napoli's second summer recruit, following the arrival of defender Kalidou Koulibaly from KRC Genk.
Having played for Real Oviedo and RC Celta de Vigo, Michu made his top-division debut in 2011/12 with Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, scoring 16 goals in 37 Liga games. He went to Swansea the following season, amassing 20 goals in 52 Premier League appearances. Napoli finished third in Serie A to book their UEFA Champions League play-off berth.
