Maccabi Petach-Tikva FC have parted company with Israeli international midfield player Avraham Tikva.

'Talented player'
The 28-year-old former BSC Young Boys player has left in the wake of last week's 3-0 first-leg defeat by AEK Larnaca FC in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round. Petach-Tikva coach Guy Luzon said: "Avi is a very talented player who simply didn't fulfil his potential at the club."

International caps
Tikva played just over an hour in Cyprus before being substituted. Last season, he appeared in 29 domestic matches for Petach-Tikva, scoring twice. Capped 12 times by his country, he includes Grasshopper-Club and Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC among his former teams.
