Honvéd unveil experienced duo

Budapest Honvéd FC have named György Bognár and Lajos Détári as their new coaching team.

Budapest Honvéd FC have named former Hungary player György Bognár as their new coach. Bognár, who previously trained MTK Hungária FC and MFC Sopron, will be assisted by another ex-international in Lajos Détári.

Poor start
The pair replace György Gálhidi who was sacked after Honvéd lost their first two games of the First Division season and also went down 1-0 at Poland's KS Amica Wronki in their UEFA Cup second qualifying round first-leg tie. Gálhidi led the team to promotion last term and the Hungarian Cup final.

Three years
Bognár said: "I have signed a three-year contract. I can only concentrate on doing as well as we can this season." Former Honvéd player Détári had been coaching second division side Diósgyor VTK but left after the club were denied a playing licence.
