The Tipster: Vassiliki Papantonopoulou's team

During the Week of Football, several UEFA Champions League players enhanced their reputations and showed the kind of form that will delight their club – and Fantasy Football – coaches.

Take, for example, versatile FC Bayern München defender Juan Bernat, who can play anywhere on the left; he made his debut for Spain and marked the occasion with a goal. At just €4.5m, he could be quite a catch, not least since Josep Guardiola is given to rotating his squad.

Then there is Arkadiusz Milik, who scored in both of Poland's games; at €5.5m, he looks like something of a steal as a forward, though with his AFC Ajax side taking on FC Barcelona, this may not be the week to invest in him.

Olympiacos FC wingers Ibrahim Afellay and Jimmy Durmaz scored for the Netherlands and Sweden respectively, and the latter especially (another €5.5m buy) is in great form, and could enjoy his first UEFA Champions League start next Wednesday, against Juventus.

Ahead of matchday three, I am pondering four changes for my Vass Class team (and accepting the six-point deduction, of course). Bayer 04 Leverkusen's Ömer Toprak and Hakan Çalhanoğlu both missed Turkey's matches due to minor injuries. I will be monitoring their condition, but I will probably replace them with Bernat and Paul Pogba respectively.

In order to get the cash for the latter transfer, I am thinking of letting Diego Costa go. That might seem like a crazy move, since the 26-year old striker is fresh from his first international goal for Spain, and Chelsea are playing host to NK Maribor – a theoretically straightforward match for the Blues. However, I am not entirely sure that José Mourinho will give Diego Costa more than 60 minutes, with the Old Trafford league match around the corner.

So, out goes Diego Costa and in comes Jackson Martínez. FC Porto play at home against Athletic Club, whose defence leaves much to be desired. That move also leaves me with some cash that I will probably use to upgrade my midfield and bring Chelsea's Nemanja Matić for €6.5m at the expense of Porto's Rúben Neves.

Up front, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi remain my candidates for captain. In my dreams, they will both score hat-tricks on matchday three – meaning they would respectively break and equal Raúl González's 71-goal record in the competition in the run-up to Saturday's Clásico. Come on, boys, do your coach proud.
