City edge derby, Bayern add to Dortmund woe

Manchester City FC enjoyed derby success on a weekend that brought a win for FC Bayern München against Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid CF going top in Spain.

Manchester City FC took the honours in the Manchester derby to stay in touch with Premier League leaders Chelsea FC, on a weekend that also smiled on the likes of FC Bayern München, Juventus and Real Madrid CF. Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund to send their recent rivals into Germany's relegation zone, while Juventus moved clear in Serie A and Madrid pounced on another loss for FC Barcelona to go top in Spain.

Group A
Club Atlético de Madrid earned a fourth straight win in all competitions, beating Córdoba CF 4-2, with Antoine Griezmann twice on target.
Juventus moved three points clear at the top of Serie A via a 2-0 victory at Empoli FC; Andrea Pirlo scored with a free-kick for the 26th time in Serie A.
• Already confirmed as champions, Malmö FF ended their league season with a loss, succumbing 2-1 at Åtvidabergs FF despite going ahead through Anton Tinnerholm.
• Second-placed Olympiacos FC failed to put the pressure on Greek leaders PAOK FC by drawing 0-0 at ten-man Asteras Tripolis FC.

Real Madrid secured a 11th consecutive win in all competitions, 4-0 against Granada CF; James Rodríguez struck twice, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema also on target.
• FC Basel 1893 returned to the top in Switzerland with a 2-0 home success against Grasshopper Club, as FC Zürich lost 3-2 to bottom side FC Luzern.
Liverpool FC are 12 points adrift of Chelsea FC at the top of the English table after losing 1-0 to resurgent Newcastle United FC.
PFC Ludogorets Razgrad beat lowly PFC Marek Dupnitza 4-0, Dani Abalo notching a pair of goals for the visitors.

• Elderson fired AS Monaco FC in front against Stade de Reims on Friday, but Benjamin Moukandjo levelled ten minutes from time.
FC Zenit beat fellow group stage contender PFC CSKA Moskva 1-0 in the Russian capital, Javi García's early finish enough to take the points.
• Captain Rafael van der Vaart's penalty for Hamburger SV ended Bayer 04 Leverkusen's eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
• Talisca curled in from 25 metres as SL Benfica overcame Rio Ave FC 1-0, the 20-year-old earning the Portuguese leaders a seventh league win this term.

Dortmund slipped into the Bundesliga relegation zone after FC Bayern München recovered from Marco Reus's opener to prevail 2-1.
• Alexis Sánchez scored his ninth and tenth goals for Arsenal FC in all competitions as the Gunners beat Burnley FC 3-0.
Galatasaray AŞ fought back from behind to down Kasımpaşa SK 2-1, Burak Yılmaz levelling and Umut Bulut hitting the winner in added time. 
• Belgian leaders RSC Anderlecht left it late to secure a home point against KSC Lokeren OV, Cyriac's 91st-minute goal rescuing a 1-1 draw.

Bayern battled back to edge Dortmund 2-1 in Der Klassiker, Robert Lewandowski equalising ahead of Arjen Robben's late penalty.
AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia admitted his side were second best as goals from Gonzalo Higuaín and José Callejón gave SSC Napoli a 2-0 home win.
• After three games without victory, Manchester City returned to winning ways with a 1-0 success against Manchester United FC, their fourth successive derby triumph.
• "The points gap is now quite serious," said CSKA Moskva coach Leonid Slutski after a 1-0 loss to Zenit left his side seven points adrift of top spot in Russia.

Paris Saint-Germain are unbeaten in 17 games in all competitions after coming from behind to win 2-1 at FC Lorient, Edinson Cavani and Jean-Christophe Bahebeck the scorers.
Barcelona lost a second successive Liga game despite hitting the woodwork four times, RC Celta de Vigo earning their first Camp Nou victory since 1941.
AFC Ajax made it back-to-back 4-0 wins on the domestic front as two Lasse Schöne goals helped them see off Dordrecht 90 to keep in touch with leaders PSV Eindhoven.
• Cillian Sheridan scored a pair as APOEL FC maintained their four-point advantage at the top in Cyprus with a 4-0 success at Ethnikos Achnas FC.

Chelsea defeated Queens Park Rangers FC 2-1 to remain unbeaten at the top in England, Eden Hazard's penalty decider coming after Oscar's stunning finish.
• Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored his fourth effort this term as FC Schalke 04 beat FC Augsburg 1-0 on Friday.
NK Maribor slipped nine points off the pace in Slovenia in the wake of a 1-0 home reverse against leaders NK Domžale.
Sporting Clube de Portugal suffered a chastening 3-0 loss to Vitória SC and fell six points behind Liga leaders Benfica.

FC Porto remain a point off the top in Portugal after securing a third league win in a row, dispatching CD Nacional 2-0 at home.
FC BATE Borisov took a significant step towards a ninth successive Belarusian title with a 2-1 win at FC Dinamo Minsk, moving four points clear of their only title rivals with three games remaining.
FC Shakhtar Donetsk lost in the league for a third time this season, Darijo Srna's 82nd-minute goal a mere consolation in a 2-1 defeat at FC Metalurh Donetsk.
• Athletic Club posted their third Liga triumph of the campaign by downing Sevilla FC 1-0, Aritz Aduriz getting the only goal.
