Zidane sidelined for three weeks

Zinedine Zidane is out of Real Madrid CF's next Group B fixture against AS Roma after dislocating his shoulder.

Zinedine Zidane is out of Real Madrid CF's next UEFA Champions League fixture after being ruled out for three weeks with a shoulder injury sustained in last night's 3-0 defeat at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Half-time withdrawal
Zidane tumbled to the ground after challenging for a high ball with Leverkusen's Roque Junior and required medical attention during the first half. He played until the break but a half-time examination showed that he had dislocated his right shoulder.

Roma fixture
Madrid's head of medical services, Dr Alfonso Del Corral, has estimated that Zidane will be sidelined for the next three weeks, meaning he will miss the Group B fixture at home against AS Roma on 28 September.
